Meet Your Hosts

We are Terry & Jan Wattles, happily married for thirty years. We have raised a blended family, one son and three daughters and we now love our new role as Grand-parents! Our son and Two of our daughters live here in Billings with their husbands and families and we count our blessings every day.

Terry retired from the Conoco Refinery in Billings, after 30 years of working his way up to a management position. Jan served as a stay-at home- mom/property owner for years and after the last children were in school, originated and managed a mortgage company here in Billings.

When Terry retired in 2006, we bought properties in Colorado and repaired and resold them. That experience was an education for us, and we learned how well we could work together, and that led to our newest adventure, of the Bed and Breakfast.

We are also homebodies and people-persons. We enjoy cooking at home and sharing our time with guests. We’ll invite friends and family to stay with us at the drop of a hat.

Why We Like it Here, And Know You Will, Too

Terry and I love this new Billings inn that we just had built and moved into. This neighborhood is chock full of character. It is a modern take on the houses of the fifties when neighbors hailed one another from their front porches and you knew the community children’s names. We can listen to concerts in the park across the street from our house. People wave to us as they drive by our front porch and we know who they are. There are many walking trails for those warm summer evenings.

We’re both Montana natives, Terry was born in Billings and Jan was born and raised in northeastern Montana- a small town named Wolf Point. We stay because small town values still matter and there is a sense of lasting history. Our generations have lived here in Montana and much of our extended family is still enjoying the open spaces and friendly people. We’ve learned the mountains look and feel different when the weather and seasons change and there are six mountain ranges encircling Billings.

Together we have traveled a bit, we have cruised around the world and would like to do more of that. We have made the pilgrimage to Israel, our beginnings. One special trip we made was one that included Jan’s siblings. Six of us went to her homeland of Denmark. We were met with relatives and treated like royalty.

We were taken to a farm that had been built in the 1600s and purchased by Great grandparents in 1850’s. There we had a meal with many of the relatives from Denmark - and on the wall behind the dining room table was a picture of Jan’s grandpa who had eaten his first meals at the same table! That was an impactful time in our lives- because it made us realize that everything we do will affect our children and our children’s children!

We are happy to share our Billings Montana accommodations with world travelers - and we hope to make their stay as rich as possible.
