Jan’s mom always had a garden in the clay soil on the river bottom. They grew vegetables for the coming winter and also entered them in the county fairs, winning blue ribbons on potatoes, green beans, beets and more. But the favorite garden of all was the flower garden up close to the house where spring and summer visitors would get the tour to see how beautiful the flowers had performed this year.
Hollyhocks, Pansies, Four O’clocks and Moss Roses, so much to see and admire before a cool refreshing lemonade and cozy chat. This room in our Billings bed and breakfast has its own bath and a Queen sized bed makes us think of garden gates and helps us remember to stop in the gardens as you cross through life- enjoy the fragrance, the beauty and be refreshed.
